01 â Challenge
Making arrival unforgettable
Hyatt Place Denver wanted to create a lobby experience that would distinguish the property from every other hotel in the city â something that travelers would remember, photograph, and talk about. The space needed to feel aspirational and surprising without being gimmicky, and it had to operate reliably 24 hours a day as guests moved through the lobby at all hours.
The conceptual brief centered on the idea of arrival â the moment of transition when you leave your everyday life behind and step into something new. "Check Your Baggage" became the anchor concept: an invitation to leave stress at the door.
02 â Solution
A lobby that tells a story
Alt Ethos designed and installed a permanent large-format projection experience in the hotel lobby. The content was conceived as a visual narrative about travel, destination, and the feeling of arrival â imagery and motion that shifts throughout the day to reflect morning departure energy and evening arrival calm.
The installation transforms the lobby architecture itself into a canvas, using projection mapping to animate the walls and surfaces with content that feels native to the space rather than layered on top of it.

03 â Inside the Project
Built for hospitality scale
The technical design prioritized zero-maintenance operation â a hotel cannot afford installation downtime, so the entire system was engineered for autonomous 24/7 operation with remote monitoring. Content scheduling, brightness adaptation, and system health checks all run automatically.
Every element of the visual content was produced in-house, from the motion design and color work to the projection mapping geometry and playback system. The result is a cohesive experience that feels like it was always part of the building.
04 â Outcome
A hotel lobby that guests remember
Check Your Baggage became a signature element of the Hyatt Place Denver experience â a feature that guests notice immediately and mention in reviews. For a hospitality brand, that kind of spontaneous guest engagement is exactly the outcome that distinguishes a property in a crowded market.
This project established Alt Ethos's capability in permanent hospitality installations â experiences designed not just for one moment, but for thousands of arrivals over years of continuous operation.
